Windows Explorer not Responding!? Help!

Hi everybody,

So earlier today my Laptop started messing up and Windows 7 Explorer started to not work, It has been extremely slow, clicking and right clicking doesnt work on programs and freezes explorer for 15-30secs roughly, I cannot open files and when i do open them, they become non respondant!

I have no idea what to do, please help!
also i have an HP Pavillion dv6 Laptop (sorry i dont know how to list all the spec thingys as i dont understand them, not very good with all this stuff but can follow instructions)
