Windows Explorer problems

Hello, I'm having a problem with windows explorer. Basically the small 'search/select' window wich appears when i try to change the location where i want the software to be installed is not responding and makes the instalation wizzard crash. This happens evry time the box comes in use, when i try to open a word document, when i try to mount something using Daemon tools. I would be very gratefull if anyone can help me.

I think I would try running sfc /scannow first. Here is a step by step if you are not familiar with it:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Also it is possible if you installed themes that replace the Explorer system libraries for Explorer to be corrupted. Or a power glitch with no battery backup.

But I would try scf command first and see if you luck out.

I runned the sfc command and I ended up with this-"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them". The problem isn't fixed and also it points me to some logs but my access is denied.

I typed the command "findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >sfcdetails.txt" but after it nothing showed up.

Run this in he command prompt. It'll show up on the desktop.

findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

Check in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS Is the CBS.log file there?

Copy and paste this in cmd prompt. I know it works because I have used it.

copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
