Solved Windows Explorer really slow and crashing excessively

Hi,

I'm getting trouble with my Explorer on my computer. It is sometimes slow and lagging, also crashes sometimes during boot before I even move the mouse and other times when I'm using the task bar, desktop or windows explorer.

None of these have worked. However the SFC scan doesn't work on windows or when I use the windows disk repair CMD. When attempting SFC in Windows, the verification process starts and doesn't go no further than 20% usually, then I get the message saying "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
On the repair disk CMD I get the same messgage straight away.

I have also run Memtest for about 5 hours, it completed 2 passes with 0 errors.
Diagnostic startup I also tried but didn't work either.

The system was all working fine until Tuesday morning when I first booted the system, I got the lagging, freezing and crashing.
System restore says there are no restore points available.

I have also had a message about Desktop Windows Manager crashing but not that often do I get this. Will read the message and post it next time I see it.

I would really appreciate help on this, otherwise I'm going to have to do a fresh install. I will upload the registry fix dump file on the troubleshooting page when it crashes again.

Here are the dump files in the local dump folder. There are three in there because explorer crashed, then when I was trying to get to the folder in crashed twice.

Not sure why this has been moved but anyways a small update -

I have also tried Safe booting - Minimal and performing a clean installation of my graphics drivers.

Not sure if it is related but Windows Update won't check for new updates and I get error code C80001FE.

Do you have a perfect install similar to what's outlined here for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7?

It might actually be quicker to do the reinstall since Explorer crashes compounded by SFC and Windows Update failure to run indicates massive corruption. Why not invest now in a perfect install which you can preserve once setup with a backup image for situations like this?

If it can screen out corrupt settings a Repair Install may suffice. I'd guess about 50% chance with that level of corruption.

Thank you for the link and advice. I think I already new it would come to this with everything failing like it is.

Didn't know you could download the latest version of Windows 7 for a clean install. That's good because I usually have hundreds of updates to do when I use my original disk that come with the program.

There will be multiple rounds of Important and Optional Updates including the latest drivers once you get online. Do that first, while you're setting up your desktop.
