Hello,
Upon every boot up Windows Explorer ( not Internet Explorer) automatically loads and displays. This has been going on for some time. I thought this would be solved once I did a "Install Repair" , yet this is not the case.

I have looked in the startup folder to see if it is being requested on startup and it is not. I have not been able to see where this request resides to turn it off.

Any ideas are welcomed.

Thanks!

Hello
I will read through the info you suggested...
For me, I did a Repair Install...
Before doing this, I tried a Startup repair, and also the usual sfc / scannow.

There are other steps there to learn to use the logs and System Resources to gather clues and solve problems, but it may require a clean reinstall. This is not something to fear but an excellent learning experience about how to get it perfect, and from which you can produce a backup image so you never have to reinstall again.

once the system is running correctly - what type of DVD/CD disk should be made so one does NOT have to do a Repair Intstall ( 5 hrs of installation) in the future ?

Any recommendations ?
