I havent figured out why this happens since I reinstalled Win7.

This only happens when I am going through the control panel. Here is what happens:

If I have to uninstall a program, I will go to programs and features and click programs and features and explorer will just freeze then if I keep clicking, I get "This program is unresponsive - Close, Restart, etc" I always choose restart it and it reloads fine.

The same things happens if I go to System or pretty much anything in the control panel.

Does anyone of any idea why this happens?

Hi nealj121,

How recent is this problem? Did Control Panel ever work? If it did, try a System Restore.

Also try the SFC/SCANNOW command to see fix any corrupted system files.

If nothing else works, try a repair install.

Could you also fill out your System Specs? It will make it easier for us to diagnose the problem. Is your computer your own build or did you buy it from a retailer, for example Dell?

Hope this helps,
Jaidyn

I filled out some of the system specs as you said - let me know if you need more.

I will try some of what you guys recommended.

Also, this problem has been around for awhile (I think since I reinstalled Win7 a month ago). Control panel DOES work but again I seem to almost always have to restart windows explorer first.

EDIT:
Also try the SFC/SCANNOW command to see fix any corrupted system files.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

This solved the problem, the log did pick up a few corrupted files and seems all is fine now.

Thanks!
