Is it possible to have vertical auto scroll when viewing folders and files in windows Explorer, ie. click mouse wheel and then move downwards to scroll down and vice versa?

Currently my WE does not allow me to select auto scroll vertically.

I don't think it is possible but instead of that you can use arrow keys on your keyboard or use Page Up, Page Down keys.

Yeah, I know about the keys but would prefer the mouse auto scroll feature instead.

Thanks.

I just tested this with my mouse. Not in Explorer it doesn't work. Works great on web pages, though.
Maybe a wish for Windows 8?

OK I can confirm that.

@OP - I've just connected my second USB mouse to check and it works.
It depends on your mouse software (and mouse in fact) - I use latest SetPoint (from Logitech website) software and now when I press wheel (in explorer window) and move mouse up-down then I'am able to do that what you described in your first post here.

Also please note that your mouse have to be compatible with SetPoint software - I have older Logitech mouse and it doesn't work with it.

No problem - it doesn't work with my (almost 8 yr old) USB Logitech mouse.
With Logitech VX Nano works great.

I use a SteelSeries Ikari Laser Mouse with the current driver, I tried using a MS Laser Mouse 6000 with the latest driver and it still won't allow vertical scrolling in WE.

A wish for Windows 8 by the looks of it. :(
