windows failed updates with Error Codes 80070643, 80071A91 and 78f

I am having this issue for months now, and i keep getting these errors. I have searched and tried different methods from other forums but only one worked for me, unfortunately just once ( flushing of the software distribution) but after the next day, when my pc was having its automatic update, it gave me the same errors again, and i could not use the method i used the day before. im not a techie person so please help me with light terms if it's ok.. thanks..


i have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, SP1, AV- Microsoft Security Essential, CCleaners, and SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition


i always get error codes 80070643, 80071a91 and 78f, and because of these all 23 important updates always failed..

Install a few of them at the time and see if you still have issues?

yes, i even tried installing a single update and it still fails..like now, im currently downloading 21 updates and this is what i got

Hi lesley0419, Have a look here Error Code 80070643 - Microsoft Answers this may help also try the system file checker http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html Is your copy of win7 legitimate ,a lot of illegal copies do encounter errors on windows update

hi, yes i ave tried already the FIX IT, but was unsuccessful, i tried also deleting the software distribution, but i was only succesful on it once, the next update, it gave me the same errors again and when i tried doing the same method, it was back again to failures, ive read on some forums about installing the updates on safe mode, but im afraid to do it, as i might accidentally do something stupid on the process..
