Hi,
I know there are many threads for this issue., but i have tried quite a few of them and no results as of yet. My laptop shows no errors in device manager and i have used numerous cmd commands that have found zero issues with my laptop and also the windows firewall fixit program that was listed in the forums but still no internet access and no firewall.

any help would be greatly appreciated thank you

Welcome to the forum, celtimcbagpipes!

:info: Please use the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool.
Download: Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download
Select the version that applies to your system.
Save it to your Desktop.
Double-click the downloaded file to run it.

When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.
At the program's console, press the Scan button.

When done, the tool produces a log, FRST.txt, in the same directory from which the tool is run (Desktop).
:ar: Please provide the FRST.txt in your reply.

The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log: Addition.txt
:ar: Also post the Addition.txt in your reply.

:info: Also, use the Farbar Service Scanner
Download: Downloading Farbar Service Scanner

Let's get a view of all services and dependencies scoped by the tool...
Make sure the following options are checked:

Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center
Windows Update
Windows Defender

Press: Scan

When done, FSS creates a log, FSS.txt, on the Desktop.

:ar: Please provide the FSS.txt in your reply.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reports!

Were you infected by some kind of malware that you tried to remove?
If not, what caused the error to appear and for you to lose network access?

Let's see if the following tool can take care of the issues. If not, we will need to go at it manually.

:info: Since the following steps involve editing the Registry, please create new restore point before proceeding.
System Restore Point - Create
Select: Option Two

:info: Now, please download the ESET ServiceRepair tool:
http://kb.eset.com/library/ESET/KB%2...icesRepair.exe
(Direct link only available)
Save to the Desktop.
Double-click to run the downloaded file.

When the program runs, a prompt appears asking if you want to proceed.
Click: Yes
When the Services routine is Completed, you are asked to Reboot.
Click Yes to allow the reboot.

The tool creates a folder named CC Support on the Desktop.
:ar: Please provide the CC Support\Logs\SvcRepair.txt in your reply.

:ar: Next, please run the Farbar Service Scanner once again, and provide the FSS.txt in your reply.

Hey, finally backing some stuff up then ill get those reports and what not. I have no idea honestly how it happened the only thing i know is my wife did windows update then restarted and it booted and restarted like 5 times setting up updates then we powered it down once it was done. We started it the next day and it said a scan was required due to being wrongfully shut down even though we let it go through the motions, it sat for about 3 minutes doing nothing then proceeded to boot up without scanning and bam no firewall and no internet connectivity, also in cmd.exe ipconfig shows my ip to start with 169 which should be 192 i then tried releasing resetting ip and it says not able to contact network or something to that nature and i tried manually setting ip settings but it would not change

So the ESET service repair fixed the firewall issue it is up and running, but the network issue still exists and device manager still doesn't show any errors for it. Here are the logs you requested and thanks very much.

Let's try the following to see if it repairs your Internet connection problem...

Please go to Start and type command in the Search programs and files box above it.

In the Programs list that appears, right-click on the black Command Prompt, and select: Run as Administrator

At the Command Prompt, type the following two commands (or copy/paste with the mouse), one at a time, and press Enter after each:

Code:
netsh int ip reset reset.txt

netsh winsock reset

Restart the computer for the network configuration reset to take effect.

Post back on result...

Thanks.

Try the following...

Go to Start > Run, and type in: cmd

At the Command Prompt type the following commands, one at a time, and press Enter after each:

Code:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /all

Check if your IP address returned to its original format (192.168.x.x)

You can also try resetting your router by holding the reset button on the back for about 30 seconds and then releasing. Give the router a few minutess to initialize itself and then attempt the connection again.
You also need to reset your wireless password (WPA, WEP) after your router is reset.

If still no-go, you may want to contact your ISP, or, post the connectivity problem in the following forum:
