Windows freezes after clicking sound button?

I've a weird problem with my sound options in my windows7 operated laptop. Whenever I clicked a sound button in the taskbar windows freezes for some minutes then sound options appear. I use windows mobility center to adjust volume level, otherwise it takes a long time. Another weird thing is, whenever I click a sound button, it toggles language bar in the task bar. Probably, it's a bug related to sound driver? Do you have any idea how I can fix it?
