i have preinstalled genuine windows7 home premium on my lenovo ideapad Y560.
i don't have windows7 installation cd.i want to reinstall windows7 home premium on my system.can i use my friend's windows cd to install on my systm?
will my windows will be genuine?

one key recovery is not able to locate system restoration partition.
it shows the message"the program cannot find the service partition. this function is currently unavailable".
i have dual boot with ubuntu 11.10 on seprate partition.is it causing error due to ubuntu?

If you want a clean install and if your friend's Windows DVD is the same version as yours you can use it, and then use your product key on your COA sticker to activate it.

If the restoration partition does not work, you can use an ISO and follow this guide

You can download an iso image of your Windows 7 from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life and burn it on a blank DVD.

You can then use this DVD to install Windows 7 and use the genuine Product Key that you already have to activate the OS either on the Net or by a Phone Call to Microsoft.

Is there any particular reason that you feel the need to re-install the OS, if you have a problem with the machine perhaps the experts here can help solve it rather than have to go to the trouble of a re-install.
