Solved Windows installer claims not to be setup.

Certain programs (google drive or sketchup for instance) have errors and either tell me Windows installers is not set up, or have led me to believe that was the issue. I have tried several registry fixers and ccleaner type things, all of which have seemed to fail.http://www.sevenforums.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

I'm not sure.

Most programs just say something brief like "there was an error installing" or "Windows Installer is not configured" and then close.

Windows says "The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed." when I try to install a windows service.

After doing this, click start rb: > type "services.msc" and hit enter.

Now search for "Windows Installer" down the list, double click it and make sure the start-up type is set to "Manual":
