6 days ago my windows live email changed to all attachments instead of text. Than it would not respond and go back to normal. It been flippping back and forth and driving me crazy. I have win 7 and webroot antivirus. I have scanned for virus. The attachments have opera symbol or open in note pad.

In safety options, security tab, make sure the following is UNchecked:
"Block Images and other external content..."

But if the WLM program isn't working properly (not responding) you could try going to Programs and Features and do a "repair" on Windows Live Essentials via the "uninstall/change" option. Alternatively, you could rerun the Live Essentials installer file to get the latest version of WLM.

Have you tried to disable your antivirus to see if it will fix the problem? Also since Microsoft Security Essentials is free, simple, and effective you might consider uninstalling the one you have and installing MSE instead. (Not sure what you mean by "flipping back and forth".)

I mean by flipping back and forth, All emails will show a file attachment than all will show the text for a little while than all shows attachments again. Isnt it unsafe to disable the antivirus and why would it suddenly cause problemsnow. Couldnt it be a windows live mail problem since it just started happening. All my email is fine if i go on web mail. Also thank you for trying to help me its very annoying problem.

It looked like you were being "protected" from the email content. So, although I agree it's unlikely, if WLM is not optioned to "protect" you then maybe your virus program is doing it. If a "repair" of WLM did not help, I believe the only way to get the latest version right now is to rerun the installer file you downloaded for Windows Live Essentials (wlsetup-web.exe), uncheck the programs you don't want and run it to let it "update" WLM (if you haven't updated WLM there is no way to deselect the update; if you have the latest version there will be nothing to install except newly checked off programs.)

Hi,
So I'm running Win 7 with windows live mail.
Huge difference bettwin outlook express that I've been using since I can remember.

Anyway, I get around windows live mail fairly easily.
But there is a thing I hate and hopefully with your help I can change.

If I receive an e-mail with an attachment pictures the thumb nails of those pictures are displayed automatically.

This is kind of annoying when you receive an e-mail with family pictures and you have a customer behind you looking at the thumbnails of those attachments, while you go thought the e-mail searching for a certain message that you what to show.

Besides, it “steels” a large slice of screen when you are on a small monitor or laptop, you understand what I mean.

Anyway, I would like to know how can I remove those thumbnails of been displayed automatically.
Remove attachment previews.

I licked the clip of the right side on outlook express. Is there a similar solution or any solution for windows live mail?

Thanks
