Windows live mail calendar sync?

Vista calendar had an option to subscribe to online calendars (e.g. Gcal). I'd love to be able to have my google calendars in a nice-looking desktop client, especially integrated with mail like Windows Live does. Unfortunately it looks like MS has taken that option away. Does anybody know about any hidden options or hacks to make this happen? Btw, I've tried thunderbird/lightning and sunbird. Not crazy about the UI/aesthetics. Prefer the way windows live looks and displays mail/calendars. Can I make this work with google? Thanks

Not sure about Live Mail, I do use live but not the calender. However if you did not know there is a tutorial here that lets you import vista's windows mail program.Would that be an work around for you? lm

If you set yourself up with a spaces account (Home - Windows Live) then youl have access to an online calendar. Once you use the login in WLM (top right) the calendar will appear in the application.
