We have 2 email addresses on Live Mail and one is giving problems.
It started with a message which shows"message cannot be found".
When right clicking on message it says "a problem occurred when trying to open this message try again" .
Also latterly the number of messages shows 3 no matter how many are in and when only the error message is present.
Can anyone help to delete the message and correct the number of messages which I do not know if it means we have 2 more which are not presenting themselves to be read

Thanks

Alan

You might have to do a repair to fix it
Go into programs and features in control panel
Look at the list and find and double click Windows live essentials
It will ask you to uninstall or repair. Click that one
Once it finishes restart the computer
Then open WLM and see if this fixes it

Can you login to the email provider's WEB email page for the account you have an issue with?
Maybe you can delete messages there, that are causing a problem with the Live Mail client program.
Every email provider I use has a WEB page for email...

Hi David

Thanks for your suggestion.

Since my last note the problem infected my own email address whereas before it had just been my wife's.

Did as you suggested and this enabled me to clear my account but although deleted the offending message for my wife on the email webpage the problem is still not cured. Now just have the message 1 cannot get rid of and at the bottom left of the page it shows 3 messages and 3 unread so something is still not right.

Hi Robin when you say delete the account is that just the Live mail account or the BT Yahoo underlying account which is the Web email page

just the live account NOT the web yahoo account
then re add the account and see if that works

Hi Robin

I cannot see the live mail to delete in my programs but suspect it could be "Windows live essentials 2011" so is this what I should delete?

It is windows live essentials 2011, yes that is what you would uninstall
Then pick up the 2012 windows live essentials, do a custom install and only check windows live mail
