Solved Windows Live Mail

I cannot seem to get all new emails to show up at the top of listings. I have the list set up so that emails are shown in a descending order, with the newest, unread emails at the top. This problem occurs with all my emails accounts.

The new emails seem to show up in a random order, with some of them at the top, some in the middle and some at the bottom of my Inbox, with older, previously read emails in between. I've researched the problem and cannot find the solution. I've gone into Options and cannot find a setting, checked or unchecked, that would solve the problem.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Version 6.1 Build 7601 Service Pack 1, on a new computer. I uninstalled the Windows Live Essentials that came with the computer and installed WLM Version 2009, Build 14.0.8117.0416 because I don't like the newest version of WLM. I've never experienced this problem before.

I have not this problem. Did you try to use options of sorting in the tab affichage ?

I don't think that WLM takes account of whether the message is read when it sorts it. The default sort is just date descending. You can however get a view that only has unread messages. If you open the View tab and press quick views you get three entries for unread mail and feeds.

Thank you, Karln and kado897, for your prompt replies. I don't know what the problem is. It started appx. one week ago and I don't understand it. I've never had this problem before. I'm considering uninstalling and reinstalling WLM but then I would have to set up seventeen email accounts, which is a hassle I don't look forward to.

Try this go into your mail and on the column for date just click on it, see if that solves the problem.

I had already tried that, to no avail. However, I just received the answer from someone in a different discussion. I had to go to my File Menu, click on View and change the "Sort by" to Date instead of From.

You're welcome glad you got it sorted out. I gave my suggestion as it happened to me and just clicking on the date column solved it.
