I am trying to install windows live mail but it won't install. I keep getting the message something is worng with the installer package, has anyone else come across this. the error code is

hr:0x80070643

I have googled this but still cannot find a slution. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried downloading again, your first one might have got corrupted so a fresh download may work.

Thanks Joan but yes I have downloaded the installer several times with the same result every time. I have completely uninstalled live mail but nothing I do will let me re-install it. I am finding this VERY frustrating

How about trying a system image rollback, then trying to reinstall. Maybe something became corrupted, creating your current problem.
