Hi
if I received an email with an .exe file as attachment, I cannot seem to find how to open the file as windows says windows security has blocked the file as it could be harmful to the computer.

hopefully someone can adivse what I have to turn of to allow the file to be open so I can install

Is the file from a trusted and known source? Do you have full admin privileges? I trust your antivirus and antimalware software is up-to-date also.

If the reply to manhunter2826's querys is YES then do the following.

1. Open Windows Mail.
2. Click on the Tools menu, then click Options.
3. Click on Security tab, clear the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" check box, then click OK.
