Windows Live Messenger - Disable something
In the Windows Live MSN window I can type a message in the 'Share something new with friends' box.
This is then duly reported on my Windows Live/ Profile/ Messenger Social webpage for all to see.
I don't want it reported and logged for all to see on that page.
How can I disable what I type in my MSN 'Share something new with friends' box from being shared on my Windows Live webpage?
thanks

Sadly unless you install WLM 2009 you cannot disable this. It was part of MS's movement t the social side of messengers. Its just like you cannot set a custom name.

Because now every time I change my 'Share something new with your friends' box in MSN it gets plastered all over my Windows Live page (which I NEVER look at)...but some 'friends' have been snooping around there spying on me and reading exactly the 'things' I had been 'sharing' on the MSN box. I don't want them stalking me and making comments about something I might have typed in there and left there for 5 minutes. You type something in that 'share' box on MSN....you leave it there for 1 minute...yet it's permanently recorded on your Windows Live page. How much does that suck? Sure I can manually delete them...but that's a pain in the neck. You should be able to disable the whole thing.
It's an outrage that this can't be disabled.

Yes try 2009. Hopefully It will be around for a while.
The Social Network side of messenger has cause ALOT of complaints and maybe eventually they will give you an option to "opt out"

Do you know if there's any issues with running 2009 on W7 64bit?
