Hi guys, great forum i must say! ive solved various problems buy various lurking sessions, but one that is really bothering me with 7 is:

Windows Live Messenger signs in, then 2
minutes later just signs out / disconnects. Ive tried allsorts and i thought i had solved it by disabling the Windows Firewall but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

You can connect send maybe 1 or 2 quick messages through then your kicked off

It
doesn't give me any error codes or anything to go by, this is really a massive problem for me as all my contacts are on WLM and not having access is a headache

Has anyone had this or a similar problem whilst running 7?

So far i have enjoyed 7 but this is sort of forcing me to go back to Vista:cry:

Hi Raj,

Im connected through a wired connection via linksys rv042 vpn router to my modem

Today i tried to open these ports on my router, but the problem still seems to be uneffected Port Forwarding for the Linksys RV082

Kimi,
I would try it by connecting your computer directly to your high speed internet connection (bypassing the router) just as a test to see if the same problem occurs. Need to be able to rule out the router as a possible cause.
