Windows Live Messenger likes to randomly crash whenever I receive a response to an IM that I send. It doesn't do it any other time. I have tried to uninstall, restart, reinstall about 15 times now, with the same results almost immediately.

I use McAfee virus scan software and have a clean report on a full scan, I also have used Malwarebytes full version and done a fulls can on that- also clean.

This computer is only four months old. Other than this issue it seems to work fine, although I did have a random BSOD today. I'm considering wiping and reinstalling everything. I know how to do that.

Can anyone think of anything that might help this issue? Is there a registry entry or something that might be causing it?

There has been a lot of trouble with McAfee lately. Maybe you should uninstall it for a while (but make sure you use the MCPR.exe) and use MSE instead.

I honestly don't like McAfee, and never have, but it's what came with my computer, and it was like a year subscription, too. I am usually a Norton person.
