Windows Live messenger to close Mar 2013

Hi there
not sure if this has been posted already but WLM is being replaced with SKYPE as from Mar 2013.

I know a lot of Ms Office users use Windows Live Messenger (although LYNC seems good if you can connect to a server)

Makes sense -- silly to have the same company supplying competing products.

I read something about that yesterday. But really, I doubt they will really close and forget about MSN, at most they will stop updating it, but I guess it will still function as normal. It would be really stupid to shut down THE instant messenger, by far the most widely known chat program since many years, while Skype remains largely unknown for many people.

The only good part is that Skype is technically years ahead of MSN, but since version 4 is becoming worse and even more since it was bought by MS.
