Windows Live messenger

I have this rather unique problem with my messenger...I have one friend that doesn't register online when she is she is actually offline...but thats the only person I have problems with...any suggestions on how to fix this?...I have windows 7 64 bit pro and she XP home witha much older version of messenger installed...she refuses to upgrade claiming it never works for her

if i understand your question correctly, its a setting in your friends messenger program, not yours. messenger gives you a few privacy options where you can appear as online, away/busy, or offline. this setting can be changed globally or you can select individual friends and change each one, if you dont want to appear offline or online to everybody.

What Version of Windows Live Messenger?

If it is Windows Live Messenger 2011 then this may happen there have been a Few Cases were Some People are appearing offline when they aren't it has been Notified to Microsoft
