Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker won't install

Like the subject says, I can't install Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. The installer is hanging at 36%. Attempted to install in Safe Mode and it wouldn't go either. Also tried installing with anti-virus software disabled. Any ideas?

This machine was given to me when my dad bought a new computer. I keep throwing upgrades at it and it keeps on ticking. Think I've done everything to it that can be done outside a PSU upgrade so I can run an even BETTER GPU.
Do a Google on the error number (0x80040705) and you get this answer from a "Microsoft Answers" forum.

To quote the "solution" found there (which seemed to work for people who used it):
The Solution: Download this utility: Windows Installer Clean Up from: Download Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 2.5.0.1 Free - Remove Windows Installer configuration information on failed installs - Softpedia it's a free version, install it and then run it, look at the list of the programs and select the program that you are trying to install (in our case here select all what begins with: Windows Live and also select Microsoft Silverlight and you can multi select using Ctrl key) and press Clean. It will take about 5 ~ 10 minutes to clear all the stored info in the Windows Installer database, after it finishes you can close the tool, run the setup again and throw me a big "Thank You" !! :-)

Thanks. I did try that about a month ago and it didn't work. I did do some more googling and may have found an answer. I can't try until I get home. I'll post back if it works.
