Some Windows Live applications have overlapped applications found in Windows XP and Windows Vista, and Microsoft's approach to this has been to let users have two similar applications installed side-by-side. Given that Windows Live applications are constantly being improved, especially with the recent push of Wave 3 and the upcoming release of Windows 7, Microsoft will be changing its stance. We've already heard whispers that Windows 7 will have some desktop applications stripped away in order to get users to download and install their Windows Live counterparts, but now official confirmation has arrived.
