Windows locks up, especially after idling

Hello,

I've had my system for about two weeks now and I keep having problems with it locking up and freezing. No BSOD but it just hangs. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I'l turn on my monitor and notice the clock reads a time from a few hours ago, sometimes more. Sometimes the mouse works during this freeze, but only for a minute then it locks up too and I have to hard reset.

I thought it was a problem with my memory but I ran both the standard and extended mem diagnostic and it came back with no problems.

then I thought perhaps it was the drivers for my Linksys WMP54G, which are known to have issues with Windows 7, so I found a walkthrough on how to install some drivers for a Ralink card that supposedly work but that didn't change anything. I just reinstalled the "up to date" (2006) drivers for this wireless card to see if that might solve it. Doesn't seem to.

A friend suggested that I take out all my ram, and reseat it but I figure that if that were the problem mem diagnostic should have caught it, at least on the extended test.

EDIT: I also went into the settings for hibernation and disabled it. Told windows to allow 100% power to the system at all times. I even ran a command in CMD to turn off hibernation entirely.
