Hi there. Trying to figure out why Windows Mail is not consistent with receiving mail. I've got three email accounts. One of them is gmail. Each email accounts has the check mark 'leave copy on server'. For two the system works fine (Yahoo Plus and a generic POP account). When I receive mail from gmail, it deletes it on the server even though it's marked to leave a copy on the server. Also, it is set up as POP, not as IMAP. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You have 2 computers XP and 7. Do you have the same problem on both? If it is only on Win 7 and if you are using the supported client "Windows Live Mail" (not "Windows Mail") then there is a problem with WLM. If that is the case, you could try doing a repair of Windows Live Essentials via Programs and Features. It will repair all the components of Live Essentials you have already installed, including Mail.

Thanks, roncerr for your tip. You are right: the problem is only in the xp version of Windows Live Mail. I am still working on repairing it. Will get back.

Ok. repairing didn't help any. Then I noticed that hours later, the messages show up again. Up to that time, they are invisible. Go figure. I don't know if it's at gmail's end, and the status 'read' or what. I'll work on it some more.
