Some while ago I converted Windows Live Mail (running under Windows 7 Professional) to the old Windows Mail as shown in another section of this Forum. A couple of days ago I lost a number (not all) of my email folders but have found these in my weekly back-up and copied them to another drive. However, Windows Mail (modified) will not let me import these as the import options don't show a Windows Mail format. If I open an actual email on the other drive I can file the item correctly using the 'Move to' option. However, I have thousand of emails which need to be moved and this would take me weeks ! Can anyone tell me how to move these 'in bulk' ? I have created new folders and these are reflected in C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders (1)

Might I suggest that you go back to that 'other section' to post your question. That one is specific to Windows Mail, this one is not.

The 'other section' I referred to is a tutorial and I cannot find a forum specific to Windows Mail - would be delighted to move the question if someone can tell me to where. Thanks.

The tutorial you mention was removed as the method to change to the old Mail has resulted in many problems. Windows Mail is no longer supported. Hopefully someone has an answer for you, but you might start considering an alternative mail client if not Live Mail. A Guy
