windows mail error

Hi all
I have installed windows mail according this manual. All seeems to work fine and I have done this about three times for my partner's school supplied machine.
This time round she gets an error which comes up randomly when she's wanting to download her pop mail.It can happen within the logged in time that she gets the error and other tries go successfully.The error page is empty.
Has anyone of you come accross this?
Any suggestions?
