Dear WMC Gurus - Please help!

I have a gmax tv tuner card, it is a sleak external (usb) TV tuner card with a remote control. The software (honestechTVR) that came along with it is really crap.

I have a Dell Hybrid, i have set up a windows media centre 7 on it. I have a couple of questions.
1. I am using the cable TV option, how to set up the TV guide? The channel name's don't appear, just frequency and no tv program guide, simply says, no data available.
2. The Tv tuner card came along with a small remote (its not a windows media centre remote control). This remote control works with the TV software that came with the Tv tuner card but does not work with windows media cente. Can you please help, how i can set it up with WMC?

What other software;s are you using for TV viewing, TV recording, managing recorded TV programs, etc.

iuVCR all you need to watch/record. You could use the deinterlace filter when watching only. Do not use the deinterlace filter when capturing. If you capture, apply some method of deinterlacing (there are tons, too much to discuss) while encoding to the final file you will archive.

Another good one is VirtualVCR.
