Hi, I am using my Xbox 3609 as an extender to my windows 7 x64 pc but after every time I connect to the media centre from the Xbox and then go back to the pc it has changed my network to a public one and therefore unless I reboot the pc I can't connect to the web.

I have the Xbox directly connected to the pc via a LAN connection and I have bridged out the 2 ethernet ports.

Is it because of this why I am getting issues?

Hi, I am using my Xbox 360 as an extender to my windows 7 x64 pc but after every time I connect to the media centre from the Xbox and then go back to the pc it has changed my network to a public one and therefore unless I reboot the pc I can't connect to the web.

I have the Xbox directly connected to the pc via a LAN connection and I have bridged out the 2 ethernet ports.

Is it because of this why I am getting issues?

I had bridged out my two LAN connections on my PC and had the Xbox connected to one of the LAN ports. I have now unbridged it and connected the Xbox to the router.

Sometimes the PC will change from a Homegroup and it shows as an unidentified network on my PC with a picture of the bench showing and other times it is fine.

On the two laptops that we have running Windows 7 too they are connecting wirelessly and they too change to an unidentified network.

The only way to resolve this is to turn off the Xbox and reboot either the laptops or PC depending which is switched on and then it reverts back to a Homegroup.

If the Xbox is switched on then it will affect the Windows 7 based PC and laptops.

I have tried altering sharing types to no avail.

I have now run out of options.

Can anyone help please?
