Hey guys
(to moderators; please move this post if you think its in the wrong section... sorry i wasnt exactly sure where to put this)
Just a quick question; the other day while watching a bit of TV i saw a Win7 advert (the "Win7 Was My Idea") but it talked about this guy, who was in spain and wanted to view his videos from his computer in the UK. And he was just using a laptop + the internet to 'stream' the content - just it didnt tell me HOW this is done, not even what the feature is called
.
I would really benefit from this, as ive just brought a laptop for use at college - and would find it great if i could just 'stream' my music collection from my harddisk at home. Thing is, i know how to do this with an internet-LAN (Hamachi) - but that must mean my computer at home must be on while im streaming - and that just isnt going to happen. So this advert appealed to me, coz it seemed to show off a feature that i could use - im guessing it stores the information somewhere? Im not sure....
If anyone knows of either what this advert was advertising... or... a programme/way of being able to stream my content without using a form of 'always-on' LAN.
(before you recommend such streamers like Grooveshark & Spotify - i cant do this as the college hotspot, blocks both programs from streaming
- bloody websense)
