Windows Media Player 11 downgrade tutorial on here is a fail

and I even did what was suggested in the discussion comments about turning Windows Features off. but now every time I try to run WMP11 it always gives "Windows Media Player is not properly installed and must be reinstalled." no matter how many times I redo this, or reinstall WMP11!

It is not a tutorial, it is a post a member made (and in 2009). Others do seem to do it with success. Do you have a System Restore point from before you tried it? If so, that may be your easiest fix

If no, I suggest you run the System File Checker and see if you can get it back the way it was.
