Sorry for the big tittle
Now I noticed that when i open my task manager sometimes just randomly windows media player network sharing service configuration application runs, but not only 1 there is 5-6 of them all taking about the same amount.
I tried looking online for tutorials i tried disabling it in registry in the processes tab but nothing would work. I don't even need to turn my wmp12 on the process starts just by itself and its really irritating.
I am running a small home network with 2 pc one on windows 7 and one on xp but the funny thing is that even if the second one is off this process starts by itself.
I am running Windows 7 Professional x64
Windows media player 12
This is a feature to share media between different computers on the same network, and with other devices as well. If you are not using this features you can disable it.
Start> In search box type services.msc> Enter> Double click on Windows media player network sharing service
Sad to report that it is still happening.
I was just playing some game and when i exited after a couple of minutes, turned on my task manager and i saw it turned on 6 times, 6 processes of the same thing
I really don't know what to do next.
Just a random thought, do you have the Media sharing turned off on the XP machine too?
On the Win 7 machine go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\HomeGroup and Uncheck music and pictures. You may have to reboot to have it take effect.
Another thing to try. Type msconfig in Search and hit enter, go to the startup tab and make sure this service in unchecked here as well. Sometimes those checks in startup override the settings in services.

Thank you I did remove the checks on pictures and music and videos in the homegroup settings now to disable the sharing on the other computer.
In msconfig everything that has to do with wmp sharing is disabled and unchecked
Will report back with the results
Thank you!
Hello I tried everything as said and nothing worked again I've found out a bit more namely it turns on about 6 times when i start windows and sometimes randomly in msconfig and startup there is nothing with that name i have just the bare esentials that i need to run.
I'm really out of ideas help guys please it hogs my resources really alot
Hello
I did SFC /SCANNOW and it did repair something but nothing changed it still turns on i noticed that its on a regular basis every time i turn on my computer. I was wondering would it be a good idea( i saw it on some site when i was searching for a solution) to find the .dll file and turn it to .bat so to disable it in general i mean if that was done wouldn't that cause the app not to turn on at all?
Also if you look around you should be able to find a freeware that watches running programs and automatically kills those you list. For example, wmplayer.exe, mobsync.exe
Another thing that can trigger file scans is offline files. If you have shared folders set to be accessed in offline mode, the system will keep scanning the files to see if they changed.
I use Everything Search and no Windows Indexing Service. But it's been a long time since I did everything to kill off all the file scanning. I don't remember all the steps.
Check task manager now and then. If you see mobsync.exe running, you still have more to do.

Thank you for your help
I've just disable windows search in services.
I just remembered I have virtualbox installed with linux ubuntu with network access can that be the problem maybe?
Thank you so much for all your help i know this must be tiring
The simplest is probably to set up an autokill app to kill Windows Media Player every time it tries to start. At least until you figure all the stuff out. I can run WMP now without hassle. But the process spanned quite a bit of time. I should keep a log of some of these solutions. But I'm not that organized.
