windows media player problems

How do i uninstall windows media player, i am desperate to find out as it seems to be corrupted, i would like to uninstall delete all music files then i can start again, please help i love my music and i just need to start from scratch. Why is there no uninstall option for this in windows 7:cry:

You can't remove it. Go to control panel-programs and features-Turn Windows features on or off-then click the + sign next to media features and uncheck the box-Windows Media Player...You cant really uninstall it but maybe toggling this and rebooting the computer might fix it so turn it off click ok and reboot then turn it back on and reboot and see if that fixes the problem if not, you may want to to do a repair install you can find that in the tutorial section if the problem persists...let us know what happens...

I have already tried that without success, is there any way to delete all music files. I have sort of tried this but when i restart my pc they are all there still.

You can also disable it, totally. It will be inaccessible.
Follow option 3, and uncheck "Enable access to this program" for Windows Media Player.
