Windows Networking Better?

I've recently installed Win7x64 and have had issues with networking. I operate with a laptop routinely moving between home and work with relative ease in XP. With Win7 when I move back and forth. Win 7 doesn't reacquire the IP address. In XP a right click on the networking icon, select repair and everything is fine. In Win 7 I cannot even get to the network properties box. I did somehow once but it only gave the option to trouble shoot not repair. Trouble shoot couldn't find a problem and didn't try to reacquire an ip address. I'm left with cmd, ipconfig /renew which works. How do I get to the network properties box and how do I repair a network issue.

If Microsoft were designing automobiles, I'm sure they'd switch the gas and brake peddle every other release to keep things interesting.

I've noticed that for some reason on some machine the enabled ipv6 will cause similar issues.
The windows firewall profiles also tend to cause 'quirkiness' when changing networks and profiles.

We haven't really come up with a clean solution for this due to limitations but should have something soon.

try disabling ipv6 and or cleaning up your 'public' or 'work' firewall profile rules.
