Windows.old install SP!

I installed win 7 SP1 and got the following error
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA

Will not start in safe mode.
Done fresh install and have updated to SP1 is there anyway to install SP1 in the windows .old folder and then rename it to windows as none of my programs will work

If you have Windows.old file...

that means you did an update.

I would suggest that you do a clean install of windows. Delete the partitions or format the existing ones that you do have and start the installation from scratch. But of course, back up all your important data first.
