I got the new update for my phone late Thursday. Still finding my way around it as there are a few glitches I'm sorting out.

I was pleasantly surprised that I was still allowed to upgrade even though my phone is the entry level. It's a Nokia Lumia 520 which I've had for about a year now and came with Windows 8.

I had gone through other updates for it, Amber then Black, but this one is the biggest for it. Not sure if everything that's involved with the update will be included via my provider, we shall see after I've played around with it a bit more.

It's a big upgrade and came via 2 stages.

I have a Lumia 521 but no provider. I bought the unlocked version for $69 and use only VoIP and all the other functions (like navigation).

Up to now I did not get the upgrade. When I try to update, I get the message that my phone is up-to-date.

What version is your phone now Wolfgang, before this update mine was Lumia Black, it had upgraded from Lumia Amber.

Perhaps where you are at the moment hasn't got the upgrade.

I can't remember what I was doing Thursday night but I got the message about an update and it would be needed before getting the upgrade one so I just clicked for it to go ahead.

That was installed then got the other had a message that my data was being migrated had a few reboots but after it was finished I was upgraded to Cyan with more features.

There is now a feature called WiFi Sense so it will search for networks in the area to connect to but I've turned that off, everytime I set it to connect to my router things were OK but then I look a while later and it would be connected to an open network, BT Fon, and I wouldn't be able to do some things.
I've still got to see if I can still send photos as MMS because I think the network setting got changed to what they were when I got the phone and I had to change them so I could send MMS.

One of the things I was looking forward to trying out was the assistant but apparently at the moment that's only available in the US, plus I'm probably restricted from some things via the network provider.

Hope you don't have to wait too long for the upgrade Wolfgang, I like it.

Thanks Joan for the update. I am happy the way it is and really not in a hurry for this update.

Maybe I did not get the update because I am currently in Europe and my phone is from the US. I'll see when I am back in Florida in the November.
