I'm trying to wipe my pc, and reinstall windows 7. I have to use a downloaded version. It's legit, I've used it before. I just want to rid my pc of all the crap on it. Anyways...

I have a toshiba satellite p755d.
It won't boot from any kind of media, nor does it seem to recognize it until windows is loaded.
I went to the bios to change the boot order but I couldn't find that option anywhere.
I've tried all the function keys as well as holding down the "c" button when the pc boots up.
The most I get is a "Windows Error 'something'"
I can't remember what it says at something.
But it only gives me options for normal boot up and recovery mode to fix problems.
Any help is appreciated.

Most of the time it's called "boot device order" in BIOS. Try to change it to DVD, USB, Harddisk. So it tries to boot from DVD and then USB first.

If you power on machine, you see a bios logo. And at the bottom something like:
"press f2 for bios". "Press F12 to change boot device".

What's the text on bios logo screen? You only see it a split second!

What bios do you have? AMI, AWARD or....?
You have to be able to boot form usb or DVD, otherwise you can't clean the disk and can't reinstall

How can I tell what bios I have?
Here I took a pic of my boot manager options by the way.

I would think there is something wrong with the disc, if you`re not getting the press any key option.

Do you own any other Operating System discs you can use to check ?

The boot disk option is in the bios, every bios has it, just keep looking. Or the boot screen will tell you what key to push to bring up the boot device. It`s usually at the bottom of the screen.

I get what you're saying, but I'm telling you it's not there. I know what you're talking about. Right when the pc boots up. But mine boots up blank.

Say what, your bios boots up blank ? :sarc:

Or, after you hit the key , nothing comes up ?

After you hit that key, at least 2 things should come up. The hard drive and the dvd drive.

How can I tell what bios I have?
https://www.google.com/search?q=award+boot+device&tbm=isch You can see in pictures that's AWARD BIOS
https://www.google.com/search?q=ami+boot+device&tbm=isch

Yeah, I don't have that. At least, not that I've found. I've tried everything I've been told. Only kind of boot manager I found was the same thing I posted the pic of.

When windows starts and I hit the key. (A few different function keys take me to the same place.)
It takes me to the picture I posted. If I hit nothing, windows starts normally and fine.
Nothing is wrong, other than this boot manager seems to be missing.
I just want to wipe my pc and start fresh.

What I said about it being blank was that I don't get that thing at the bottom of the screen that says hit this key to select boot options. Or whatever it says. Theres nothing there.

Just tried that.
It took me to the same place.
I forgot, if it matters, that pic i took is 1 screen further.
The first one I get it says Boot Manager or something.
It says memory diagnostics at bottom and boot windows 7 at top. (normal boot up)

The bios screen is what you get when you 1st turn on the pc, it may be hidden, but it will tell you what key to push to get into the bios at the bottom of the screen.

You are missing it and it goes to windows, you have to hit the key way b4 that. Try delete like G says, start hitting it as soon as you turn on the pc.
