I have a brand new Desktop PC - running Windows 7 - 8gb ram - iTB HD and I have to say it is running perfectly well. However, when I shut it down yesterday I noticed that the PC restarted itself and stated ' windows had recovered from an unexpected shut down' blue screen, and it gave me details of a mini dump file for the error. The mini dump file is empty so nothing reported there. In the event log it states the issue was 'kernel' as follows: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
My husband suggested I shut down too soon before allowing ie to close properly. Any suggestions welcome, my concern is, should I be worried, has this done any damage?, it has not done it since and I have no other error messages. Is it possible some programme was still running and caused the PC to reboot? All answers appreciated. Thank you for your time.

The http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html can still provide us with the BugCheck code to determine if the problem is serious.

One thing I would suggest is:
Run Disk Check with Automatically fix file system errors checked. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/96938-check-disk-chkdsk-read-event-viewer-log.html (you may need to search for wininit instead of chkdsk).
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

sorry I am a learner but do remeber bug check code 25 was quoted in the pop-up window if that helps. Chkdsk shows no errors and has been run more than once. Thank you for your time, it is appreciated.
