Hi,
I had been using Windows XP Proffessional for a long time. I reinstalled it to Windows 7 32bit recently. I had installed it using a bootable flash memory. I am using a AOC wide screen (16:9). Now the resolution seems to be very different from how i felt it while using winXP.:( The computer shows that 1024x768 is the best resolution for my computer/screen, and only two options are available for me to adjust the screen resolution- 1024x768 and 800x600. I'm using the first one currently.

The resolution seem too large for me, when i open three chatboxes on Facebook it fills my screen.. that large!
I tried installing several drivers from intel and lenovo but failed utterly.. need help!
Thank You:)

Welcome Jibin John :)

Try running Windows Update in the Control Panel several times to get the most recent drivers for your computer. Also you should check the websites for your MB & graphics card for recent drivers.

the windows updates are constantly updated.. but i still got this problem. the funny part is that it was fine with WinXP, though i had reinstalled it several times too.
I had found out that the intel grahics controller/properties/whatever.. is missing (like when u right click on the desktop, the graphics options appear, but after installing Win7 that doesnt appear). i tried the intel site but couldnt get a suitable one, because i didnt know all that specifications and things. Could u please help me get a SPECIFIC link to a good driver download from intel.

What is the model number of your computer? I assume it was made by IBM as that is what you have listed as the motherboard, which doesn't help much as you didn't list the model number of that either.

I downloaded his motherboard manual finally, amongst a grouping of ThinkCentre A51's.

This is it:

http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/39j7710.pdf

That is an XP made box, it's not worthy of 7, you should get a new PC or put XP back on it, isn't not going to handle 7, remotely close to fair, yes it could install apparently, but usable.... NO
and probably would run Vista poorly also due to RAM, let alone needing a video card.

Technically I suppose you could invest in more ram if allowed and a better PSU/video card, but by that point, you might as well have just replaced it with a Walmart special.

I have a 2008 laptop I bought used with 2gigs of RAM on it (its max), it is literally stuck with Vista 32-bit it came with, what it is was made for, can not run 7 either, and probably couldn't fall back to XP, even if I wanted.
Plus it's a 32-bit CPU also, can't install ANY 64-bit OS on it either, crippled where it stands, so OP I feel ya pain.

IBM, shame on you, a VGA on-board in a 2009 PC offering? *SLAP*

But if this is all you got to work with, I would go for a video card that has no fan, so you know it's power requirements are insanely low (for a video card) such as:

http://www.junglee.com/Sapphire-Rad...1367372407&sr=8-1&keywords=video+card+windows

Looked for India version of Amazon, and found above.... enjoy. :)
