I don't want to beat a dead horse with this, but, our company is back and forth about removing Windows search, and indexing, from our images. We are being told that it is causing issues with Outlook, mainly slowing it down. What do you all think?

Considering I can use the built-in search to look for content or attachments in my Outlook account, it would be stupid and irrational for me to consider removing or disabling it. If this is with an Exchange setup, and Outlook seems slow, it is likely one of two things....poor network performance, or users having WAY too much stored in their online mailbox. Are they using Cached Exchange Mode?

We are using Cached Exchange, and I do agree with you so far, we do not have anything in place to archive users mail which was one of my arguments from the start of this. Also we do have several locations do not have access to any decent ISP's, so there connections at times are poor.

Right there are two possible explanations why their Outlook seems slow, and neither has anything to do with Search. I had a user who would always complain about Outlook, and she had 22,000 e-mails in her inbox alone.

That was kind of my point with them. This is not the only person who has said something about outlook running slow, but I still don't know what lead them to believe that it had anything to do with Win search or indexing from the start. But, thanks for the help, you know how companies are want more and more info no matter how many times you tell them.
