What I want to do is crete a financial/development box on a home network and am looking for the best way to do this.

- What firewall/av package would allow me the most control to blacklist everything going in and out and only whitelist which IPs can be connected to.
- Should I use Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008?
- How can I configure the Windows system for more security and control?

- I'm more of a Linux guy so I don't do Windows Systems.

I use Eset Smart Security. Firewall, top notch AV, and easy UI for advanced firewall rules.

Depends on OS.

We could use more info so we can give you more concrete advice

Yea, ESET was what I was considering using.
