Windows Server 2008 VHD

Hello,
Is it possible to boot into a Win 2008 Server VHD from Windows 7?

I think this is an ideal scenario for developers..Can i simply use a Win 2008 Server VHD that someone else has created?

How will this work? Thanks

Windows 2008 R2 should boot from VHD file, you do same as you install Windows 7 to a VHD. 2008R2 and Windows 7 use exactly the same kernel.

thanks but can i bring on a vhd created by someone else and possibly created on another PC?

You better use a VHD created on similar hardware, otherwise it may not boot
