Windows Server 2008r2 Datacenter; slow transfers

This is my home server I use for DLNA, backup, main storage, and streaming:
Windows server 2008 R2
Intel Core i5 3570k
asus P8z77-i Deluxe
4x Samsung f4 2tb
LSI megaraid 9260-4i
8gb Samsung 30nm ddr3
40gb Intel 320 SSD(boot)
60gb Corsair Force GT(windows server 8)
500gb Seagate Momentus(temp install files)

Originally the server had x4 635 amd processor etc and I had a perc 5i card in there and my server worked great, I had no issues at all nor when I upgraded again to i7 2600k server and threw down a megaraid lsi card in there. I was able to transfer with ease and got extremely high copy rates etc. and of course streaming was flawless.

Now that I've upgrade my system(just a week ago) I've been stressing on trying to get my system to what I had before. I CANNOT copy ANY files from or to the server through mapped drives which I mainly use to access the server itself; streaming, storage, etc. I'll get a copy popup and it'll transfer at 16.kbs and even though the file was 1meg> it simply freezes.

Accessing the mapped drive has been a nightmare, requiring me to wait minutes before being able to enter folders or even open up files becomes worst; I cannot even stream a 7meg Mp3 at all. Before I streamed my entire library of music directly off the server and had no issues at all.

I've tried: swapping routers(wndr3700-r6300) both gigabit, cat 5e/6 cable swaps, disabled netsh autotuninglevel etc, reinstalling windows server, and updating all hardware etc.

Thing to note:
The computers are neither wireless nor have wireless at all and are no more than 3 feet beside another.
I chose windows server 2008 r2 not because it was free but because I wanted an actual OS where I can install applications and have it more or so as a 2nd computer.
I had to force install gigabit drivers as intel decided decided to not have the 82579v 2008 r2 driver support.(this is my biggest concern and fear as I already purchased a $220 motherboard that is itx form factor).
I changed my operating system from 2008 r2 standard to datacenter but from what I gathered the main difference was datacenter offered more(doubt I'll ever need but I wasn't losing out on anything).

Any advice is appreciated and thank you for reading.

It could be the drivers not working properly. Did you try a gigabit ethernet card and disable the on-board one?

Thank you for your reply but unfortunately I do not have a spare gigabit card lying around. From what I was told intel simply removed the ability to install the drivers on windows server machines rather than have the hardware not support it at all; though this is the only info I have for peace of mind.

The method I used to "force" install was enter the windows server 2008 r2 code into the .inf so it is on the "os support list," but I'm not all too savvy on the coding and instructions possibly affecting the transfers.

There is a good possibility that your network adapter is running at 10mb speed instead of gigabite speed. A new generic gig network adapters are not that expensive. That would be my only suggestion for now.

Price of a new adapter was never the issue; motherboard is itx therefore it only allows for 1 pcie slot and that is occupied by the raid controller.

I discovered the problem being that if I am not remoting into the server I don't have any issues at all regarding transfers or accessing the drive. Is there any way around accessing the hard drive and remoting at the same time w/out the impossible hdd access? Or will I need multi gigabit port and a smart switch to do so?

I installed the Server 2008 R2 on a ASUS P8Z77-I DELUX mini-ITX mobo and had some difficulties.
To get the Gigabit network card to work I had to choose manually from the HCL but when that obstacle had been passed many of the "not supported" drivers for Server 2008 R2 64-bit could be updated automatically. Now the only one that haunts me is the Bluetooth - Would appreciate any help there....

Note!
1. First in Device Manager when selecting Update Driver Software choose "Browse my computer..."
2. The click "Let me pick from......"
3. In the list scroll down to network adapter and click OK
4. in the righthand list choose Intel
5. in the righthand list choose Intel 82579LM and click next
