Windows services high cpu usage

Hello.

I might have a problem with my services, one service goes to around 25% cpu usage when my cpu is under load but the svchost containing that service shows 0% cpu, i have seen it happen with dhcp and windows update, example: Imgur: The magic of the Internet


Google was not to much help since all the topics just cover svchost having high cpu usage but i have scanned for viruses and malware, done sfc /scannow both showed nothing.

My suggestion is to set Services - Windows Update - Manual and on WU page set it to Never check.
If you want to update your Win 7 computer, use Simplix UpdatePack7R2
Simplix is a single file (850MB) that contain all updates since Win 7 released up to date. It has all security and non security updates without the trash (telemetry and tracking). Very good.
Then run WU manually to find updates for Office etc and decide witch one to install.

I stopped the windows update service at set it to manual, installed all the updates from simplix updatepack and ran the bat to remove the other updates, but the problem continued.

World of Warcraft is an online game. I also have it but it doesn't start with windows.
Try to stop to see what happens.

I just used World of warcraft because that what was installed and the game is just sitting on the login screen, the same thing happens with all games or programs that puts a load on the cpu.

Stop the clr_optimization service you mean? it was disabled/stopped during that.
or if you are talking about World of warcraft the service cpu usage stops as soon as the game closes.

Stop World of Warcraft (wow.exe).
press Ctrl+Shift+Esc find wow.exe, right click - End task

That wont really solve the issue, sure it will stop the service from using 20% cpu but that's because the computer is idle and as soon as i start WoW or something else again the service will go back up to 20%.

You open this thread complaining that you have high cpu usage. It's related to WoW.

You can leave as it is or disable WoW to run when Windows start (like I did).

This is actually a FEATURE of Windows 10, not a bug.

Old versions of Windows used to bundle a whole bunch of these services into a single CPU process. That approach saved memory and CPU cycles, but it meant that if any one of those processes crashed, the entire process tree would have to be shut down and restarted.

Windows 10 can still bundle these services if necessary, but on machines with enough RAM and CPU power it separates each service into its own unique process. This method takes more CPU cycles and RAM, but it means that if one service crashes, that lone service can be restarted without interrupting the whole machine.
