Put the disk marked "Operating System Windows 7" in the drive,

restart the computer, tap the F12 key firmly every second until you get a menu,

choose the DVD drive to boot,

when you get the Prompt to "Press any key to boot DVD" hit Enter.

On first screen choose Language and keyboard options, click Next.

On second screen choose "Repair My Computer"

Let it find an installation to Repair, choose the installation, click Recovery Tools to run Startup Repair repeatedly with reboots.

Report back what it finds.

Can you answer me please thank you

Hello Rythemz.

I did some research on your computer and apparently its a company that makes gaming computers and what not. I am beginning to wonder if its not your graphics card. I also found an article of someone else's suggestion that pressing the F2 key AND DELETE keys at the SAME time should get you into the BIOS screen. If that does not work try just the F2 key alone. If that does not work try the DELETE key alone. You will need to power down the computer for each of these attempts to get into the BIOS.

If your able to get into the BIOS this hopefully tell you if the video card has some functionality and at the same time allow you to make sure that the CD/DVD drive is slated to boot first. Also try to see then if the DVD drive will open and close and has the right Windows 7 repair or installation disk from Alienware.

Any warranty left on the computer ?

Victor

No correction needed, Victor. I believe entering BIOS setup on Alienware is indeed F2 + DEL.

I was just providing the shortcut key to a BIOS boot menu to give OP easiest method possible at this point.

It would be good if he can enter BIOS setup to check the video card settings and DVD drive boot order as you suggest.

Thanks Gregrocker its always nice to learn something new. I like your idea better but I am beginning to feel the system may have hardware issues.

Using the phone/chat Tech Support on a high end gaming rig if under warranty is also a very good idea at this point to get his money'$ worth, since this thread is having a hard time getting anywhere so far.

We are still always here to help and won't give up until he does.

I'd master booting a disk before trying to build a computer.

What exactly happens when you try to boot the disk? Do you get "Press any key?"

What are you doing to boot it?

I know how to use it its just not working i have built several before

Something is wrong with the disk and it did not install right.

I could wipe HDD but media card reader is disableing it and i cant find that in bios

Its stuck in a start up loot.

How do you know it is the media card reader which is disabling HD?

Unplug the media card reader after PC is powered down, unplugged and drained of residual power by holding in the power button while unplugged.

Can you enter BIOS setup now? Reset to optimal defaults, with DVD drive set first to boot, HD second and all others removed from and/or disabled.

If you cannot enter BIOS setup after repeated tries, reset the CMOS using jumper on mobo as explained here: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

I can enter bios but media card is disableing my HD from being wiped.

And its a laptop.

Glad to see that you were able to install Linux on the system. At least that indicates that the hardware is working in the computer.

Good luck
