I have upgraded from Vista Home to Windows 7 Home. The sidebar seemed to transfer over ok except that the Stocks gadget did not appear. It did not even appear in the list of gadgets from which one can choose. I checked in the program files directory that the stocks.gadget folder was empty! I renamed that folder stocks2. gadget. Luckily I had a backup of the Vista drive so I was able to copy from C:\program files\windows sidebar\gadgets\stocks.gadget and paste to the same destination in Windows 7 and, yes, I am able to choose the stocks gadget and it now appears on my sidebar. Unfortunately, the gadget shows "Service not available". I should also say that the weather gadget works very well and is 'connected' ok for weather info. Can someone help please to activate the stocks gadget? Thank you.

I would love to help you get this gadget to work...unfortunately I can't because the service is no longer operational under Windows 7. The saddest news is that I (and others) have not been able to locate any equivalent gadget.

This is a BIG loss.
