On 10-14-14 there were 20 update files to load to my Win 7 64-bit system. Of those 20 updates, two (KB3001652 - Update for Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime and KB2952664 - Update for Windows x64) failed to install. I have tried to re-install those but they still fail.
After this massive update, any Windows sounds (signon after loading, exclamation, etc) are always 5-10 seconds in sounding after the event that makes it happen.
I've run sfc /scannow and 'repair' from the installation disc (no errors found). I have no issues with sounds from games or applications like Windows Media Player, just the system sounds.
This may sound like a minor problem, and it probably is, but shortly after this massive update, I started having random display driver errors: 'EventID 4101 nvlddmkm display driver stopped responding and has recovered'. This error occurs sometime during every game I play (Shadow of Mordor, Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Skyrim, ESO, WildStar, etc and it's never happened before this update).
I loaded back versions of my display driver (clean install on every one) and it's happened on every one going back to drivers released the first of the year. I used MemTest (no memory problems) Prime95 (no CPU problems) and FurMark (no graphics card problems).
I don't know if the two are related but would like someone's input, if they would be so kind.
