Since I moved my system from an HDD to a Samsung EVO 850 the bootup time & overall system performance has been vastly improved but when I boot up & first get into desktop the whole system freezes for about 5-10 seconds.

I was just wondering if this could mean something is wrong with my new SSD or if it's a Windows issue? Crystal disk info shows the SSD's health status as "100% good."

Check what you have starting with Windows. To do that type msconfig in the Search Box & when it opens click on the Start Up tab & untick everything except your AV program. Be sure to click the Apply button before exiting.

Re boot & see if anything has changed.

I tried disabling a couple Intel processes related to integrated graphics, which I guess were unnecessary anyway because I have a GPU, but it seems to have solved the freeze issue upon entering the desktop, at least for now assuming it's not a coincidence or something.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for getting back. Actually I has a similar issue recently with starting up slowing down & found that this was caused by a recent NVIDIA driver update that had corrupted something. By disabling all the NVIDIA Services under the Services tab in System Configuration, then rebooting the computer & then re-enabling 2 of them has fixed the problem, after a further reboot.
