At least once a day I get a notification popup that tells me to "Change your Windows Update Settings" to automatically install updates, but they already are set to this option. What is happening and how do I stop this? It has the impeccable skill to randomly appear when I'm in a fullscreen application.

Hello and welcome CS mate an easy few things you can do are these

Change the update settings and then reboot then change back to what you like personally I like to know what is a available

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Disk Check< if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2 >in safe mode if need be
if these is no change then these too and personally I would run the lot
